How to Install Wordpress and Make a Website

Step 1:

If you are not very familiar about the best web hosting providers. You'll be surprised that there are some web hosting providers who provide the facility to install Wordpress and many other useful scripts at just a mouse click.


Couple of them I recommend having Wordpress installation facility are:

Both of them have an option in their control panel to install this through an external service provider called 'Simplescripts' (www.simplescripts.com). There are some providers who have tie up with 'Fantastico'.

I personally use and recommend Blue Host, and so do Wordpress. The tutorial will be based on the Bluehost control panel screens.

Step 2:

When you have purchased your domain and hosting from one of the above. Log in and go the control panel....you see the below screen.

Step 3:

Now find the 'simple scripts' menu and click on that.

Step 4:

You get the below screen. Click on the install button and you will be redirected to a website outside Blue Host.

Step 5:

You can se there are more than 30 scripts ready to be installed. Select the appropriate one, for this tutorial we select Wordpress and click it.

Step 6:

Now just select the Wordpress install button.

Step 7:

The below screen is self explainatory. You select the domain directory where you want to install this script. Normally if you are installing this script for making your website directly then keep the sub folder blank.

Next step is important: Click the Advance option (normally it is hidden, you need to click and blow up the options. Select the option that you want the sameple data to be installed so that you can visualize what and where you need to do the adjustments.

Also don't forget to select the admin user name and password. You can choose any name and password you wish but do remember this.

Finally click the legal information box and click the complete button to finish the setup.

Step 8:

Now once the installation is complete you need to go to the admin panel link from the setup screen or type the address:

http://www.yourdomain.com/administrator - you get the below Wordpress Administrative login screen. Enter your admin user id and password you created in step 7 and log in.

Step 9:

Now once you log in to the Wordpress Blog you get the configuration screen. You need to blow up each of these options and configure the default website. which looks like the next screen.

You need to change the impages appearing by default and the links, content texts etc.
